Charles Cotten

Charles has 35 years experience in Commercial Real Estate/Finance. Prior to starting CSE Commercial Real Estate, LP, he was the top executive at Cousins Properties responsible for third party management services and leasing. While at Cousins, Charles also oversaw Cousins’ role as Development Manager for Las Colinas, directing land sales and marketing, land development, governmental affairs and asset management on behalf of Las Colinas’ largest landowner, TIAA. He also lead a group of 20 professionals who leased and managed Cousins’ 14-million square-foot portfolio of Class A office properties in Dallas, Charlotte and Atlanta. Charles played a pivotal role in the successful completion of Las Colinas/DCURD Global Solution, which lowered and stabilized the Dallas County Utility and Reclamation District’s tax rate by refinancing much of the district’s debt, restructuring its board, standardizing its tax abatement program, and creating a tax increment finance district. He also helped TIAA complete a $100 million sale of the remaining undeveloped Las Colinas land in December 2006. Charles has spent 30 of his 35 years in commercial real estate working with the Las Colinas development. Before joining Cousins in 1992, he was one of the original partners in JPI Partners, which then managed Las Colinas. Here he managed a portfolio of commercial and residential properties and oversaw the development’s financial restructure, which included the sale of $365 million in improved properties, and the reorganization and refinancing of the Las Colinas development with TIAA. Previously, Charles served as Vice President of the Hotel and Office Divisions for Southland Financial Corporation, where, as Project Manager, he was responsible for underwriting, financing, cost control and change orders for the $130-million development of the Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas.

Civic Involvement: Charles served as a Director of the Las Colinas Association for eight years. He is a former director of The Real Estate Council (of Dallas), where he chaired the 2005 Fall Gala raising $500,000 for local charities. He currently serves on the Dallas County Utilities & Reclamation District Board of Directors.

Bobby Stewart

Bobby has 33 years experience in commercial real estate. Prior to starting CSE Commercial Real Estate, he served as Vice President for Cousins Properties responsible for the Las Colinas account which consisted of approximately 2,500 acres valued at over $250 million in the Las Colinas development. While at Cousins, his responsibilities included the development and sale of approximately 2,500 acres owned by Las Colinas Land Limited Partnership (TIAA-CREF and JMB). Highlights include the successful development and sale of over $200 million in closed transactions of various product types including office, hotel, retail, multifamily, single-family and flex office. This included spearheading development of the master planned residential community, La Villita, Dallas’ top residential development in 2005. In late 2005, Bobby was instrumental in the sale of the final 600 acres owned by Las Colinas Land Limited Partnership in Las Colinas. Prior to joining Cousins, Bobby was managing Director of Encon Industries-Europe where he managed two subsidiary companies that formed the European operations of this U.S. firm. While at Encon, he was instrumental in leading an increase of sales by more than 300% and helped a sale of the company to New York based Wafra Investments. Previously, Bobby was Director of Marketing for Amwest Savings Association, where he was responsible for the marketing and sale of a $1.0 billion portfolio consisting of over 300 commercial real estate assets covering 10 states and over 40 cities.

Memberships and Civic Involvement: Bobby formerly served on the Board of Directors of the Irving (Las Colinas) Tax increment Finance District No. 1 and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the First Tee Dallas. While attending Texas Christian University, Bobby was named to the 1980 All-Southwest Conference football team and the 1980 Associated Press All-America football team. He has served on the Letterman’s Board of Directors for TCU and as a mentor of Irving ISD’s students.
